Location good but I won’t be returning! The continental breakfast was really poor! And the cooked breakfast was greasy and poor. The WiFi/aerial needs attention as I couldn’t get good picture quality. I feel the bathroom needs modernising. The lady who runs the hotel seems very un welcoming too. Feels like the hotel needs a bit of attention for the money they charge !!

Great location with a stunning view over the sea, room was very clean and tidy, Staff were really friendly and helpful (Especially Dawn) and breakfast was good too. Would definitely stay again.

Right on the front, a short walk in to town. A bus is nearby. Lovely welcoming atmosphere, well worth a visit

This is one of the most beautiful quaint hotels me and my wife have stayed in. We arrived Friday and the staff couldn't be more helpful. The views from the hotel are stunning. The food is lovely and we couldn't have been happier. Would highly recommend 👌

Un hôtel « à l’anglaise » avec une chambre et une salle de bain spacieuse. Par contre, penser peut-être à moderniser le mitigeur de la salle de bain (système à pompe d’une autre époque !) Hôtel Idéalement placé : pas loin du centre-ville mais suffisamment éloigné pour ne pas être au cœur de l’animation. Juste devant la mer et les falaises : vue splendide ! Très mitigée, par contre, sur le petit-déjeuner : en-dehors des plats chauds que l’on commande au serveur, le buffet continental est… minuscule et assez honteux. Ah, si, des petits-pain au chocolat encore sous plastique (!!!), clairement achetés en grande surface. Très peu de choix de yoghourt. Pas de pain (seulement servi à table), pas de viennoiseries, pas de fromage, pas de charcuterie, uniquement 2, 3 fruits, jus d’orange en brique… désolée mais malgré la chambre et la vue, proposer un tel petit-déjeuner vous discrédite et c’est totalement à repenser !

Fantastic location, clean, tidy and a nice breakfast. Parking always seems available on the road with a free scratch card provided. Good value for a whitby stay.

I travelled with my son and disabled child. Although there was no lift, we managed. Hotel staff were lovely,nothing was too much trouble. Room service went above and beyond as we had extra waste. Breakfast was lovely good choice.

What a nice hotel, very tidy and the staff very friendly, rooms are nice and the breakfast was cooked well. Parking at front but only space for 6 cars, but not a problem as they give you a parking permit free for you satay duration. Just a nice steady 15 minute walk to the center, would have no problem returning here.

Lovely hotel on west cliff. Rooms comfortable and spotlessly clean. Great breakfast. Highly recommend.

We had a great time. Staff could not have been more helpful. Good breakfast included. Nice evening meal, very decent price. Would have been 5* all round but our shower in room 12 with sea view, was temperamental very hot then cool. Apart from that. Fantastic. Thanks Jon&Denise 🧙‍♂️ 🦉

What a wonderful place! We stayed here when our Airbnb host left us high and dry, and the front desk person was so kind and helpful. The rooms were comfortable and clean. And the complimentary breakfast was perfect. Thank you so much for saving us and giving us such a nice place to stay.

Great sea-front location with parking usually available (Easter weekend). Our room was 2 flights up but it was quiet & comfortable enough. Sadly though, the aerial/WiFi was not sufficient to be able to watch anything on TV (see photo 😠). The cooked breakfast was always hot & delicious with great service too. Other choices available to help yourself to. The shower was very dated and the water pressure wasn't very good at all. The plastic blue bin was a major disappointment as it looked absolutely awful (see photos). Found the staff's lack of attention to the tv reception/WiFi issue unsatisfactory, as the price charged would command a higher standard of working facilities to ensure everything is to a satisfactory level. Also a shame the hotel's leaflet was in a very sad state. A little attention to update are needed...

We had a lovely stay here! Perfect location - a short walk to the town centre but just out of the hustle for quiet nights with perfect sea views. Lovely and welcoming staff. Would definitely stay here again!

Stayed here for a week in August, very lucky with the weather. Great hotel and staff very friendly, home from home. Very clean throughout all areas, cooked breakfast delicious and the offer of more tea and toast most welcome. Well stocked bar with comfortable lounge and outdoor seating area. Can't wait to return, thanks to the all the staff for making our stay so enjoyable.

Our first holiday since October 2019. Staff welcoming and always polite. Breakfast very good and choices. Rooms comfortable as was the bed. Room size was ok we only booked for three nights. Drawer space could be a bit of a tight squeeze if staying longer.

What a fabulous place to stay, stayed 4 nights.. Didn't want to go home, will certainly come back again, l would recommend this place to my friends and anyone who l talk to who is thinking of coming to Whitby.. Beautiful food, excellent room and lovely friendly owner and staff.. I have rated it 5* but it deserves more.. Whitby is a great central place to explore the Yorkshire Moors and coast.
